I have hand stitched a corset onto calico fabric,, I got the idea from my previous project.

FMP (final major project)

This is the last project of my fashion course, I am looking to create an under garment and an accessory or accessories. In my last project I created an collection of knickers, not to my best standard of making but the project was more about print techniques, in this project I want to concentrate more on my abilities to make. The under garment i am looking to create is a Corset, the theme to my project came from a PlayStation game I play called 'Alice- Madness returns'; when showing my tutor the images she recognised an element from one of the creatures and it made my tutor think of a fashion movement called 'Steam Punk'. after seeing this movement I decided that i would like to create my garment and accessory with the steam punk movement as inspiration. 

 

The teapot creatures eye looks like the eye on the steam punk ring.

This is the type of clothing and style that the people who follow the movement wear.

finished knickers

I have made my knickers and printed them, they are quiet big for a medium size they look like a size 16. I was looking to create more of a size 10 or 12. If i could change anything I would of used the small pattern. On two of the knickers the prints have turned out really well, unfortunatly something went wrong with the transfer paper and not all of the musical not has prined out. I would have also made them look alot more sexier by useing thrills and silk fabric.

this is the pattern for my knickers. I noticed on the pattern I have bought it suugests fabic to use, I have decided to buy a white jersy fabric.
